Staircase of Song

Record music to build a staircase out of the underworld.  Based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, in this game you build platforms using a musical scale.  

Goal:

• Get both heroes to the next yellow door 🚪 

Controls: 

• 🖱️Click on the musical scale 🎹 or press the ⌨️  keyboard key shown on each note to play notes 🎵 on Orpheus’s Lyre
• Click  record  🟥 and then press and hold notes to build platforms🏗️ 
• Click pink triangle ▶ to send Orpheus and Eurydice across the platforms
• Click play  ▶️  or press space play existing platforms without recording
• Click  pause ⏸️ or press space to end playback, recording, or a crossing attempt.
• ⬆️ ⬇️ to move point of view

Theme:

Made in four days by just me for the GMTK Game Jam 2024.  The jam’s theme was “built to scale”, so I made a game where you build things using a musical scale.
